John T Reed
John T. Reed is one of the entrepreneur success stories you may or may not been privy to, but if you have spent any time near the industry of real estate in the past few years, you know his name is synonymous with success. Known the world over for his aptitude for a wide range of difficult agendas-from sports to real estate investing to authorship; John T. Reed has truly an exceptional story to tell of how he built his career out of a modest beginning.
This isn’t to say that John’s beginnings were not blessed with better than average schooling, but as most of us know, schooling isn’t everything. It can augment your resume to soaring degrees, but it really can’t extend your learning and get you to use what knowledge and ingenuity you have to persevere to something great. This said, Reed attended West Point for a Bachelor of Science and then went on to receive his MBA from Harvard Business School. Yes, it is impressive, but it isn’t what made him into the successful entrepreneur he is today. That was all him.
After his extensive schooling, Reed decided that he would investigate this world of real estate investing that he had heard talk of. He had heard that it could be a lucrative industry to get into if you knew what you were doing. So, he set about figuring out just what that was. He began his lengthy resume of achievements in property management-in which he was able to educate himself “hands-on”-as he deems the only significant way to do business in real estate. From there, his years of experience and successful related ventures multiplied.
It was about then that Reed decided to start putting his ingenuity and story of learning the real estate business into print, and become a how-to author of sorts. Aside from being author of The Real Estate’s Monthly newsletter from his own website, Reed is also considered a “real estate guru” from his open commentary on fellow entrepreneurs in the industry as well as his countless books and excerpts on real estate success.
